Applied Cognitive Neuroscience Lab
I will be launching my lab in August 2024 and I will be looking for students and post-docs soon! Please reach out if you're interested: arielleskeller@gmail.com
Lab Research Themes
I am interested in human cognition, and particularly in understanding how our brains allocate attention to what's important while ignoring distractions. I'm also interested in applying ideas and methods from cognitive neuroscience to applications such as:
-
mental health
-
e.g. to characterize attention impairments in depression and anxiety
-
-
neurodevelopment
-
e.g. to investigate how brain networks and cognitive functions are shaped by childhood and adolescent environments
-
-
education
-
e.g. to understand how attention may fluctuate during learning
-
In these and other endeavors, the lab will use computational analysis tools such as machine learning and will be guided by the following principles:
See below for some additional examples of avenues we will be exploring in the lab! Of course, we will always remain open to new ideas, questions, and perspectives as well, so please reach out if you think you might be interested in any of these themes.
